New Rackets for the Australian Open 2011

No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki is going to play with a new Yonex racket on Australian Open. She switched from her Babolat Aero Pro Drive to Yonex VCore 100S. Caro already tried the racket in an exhibition match in Thailand where she was playing with Kim Clijsters.
Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark plays a shot against Kim Clijsters of Belgium during their exhibition match at Centenial Park on January 1, 2011 in Hua Hin, Thailand.
Critics say Caroline might have problems as the shapes of the rackets are very different and switching from round-shaped Babolat’s head to rectangular Yonex is not an easy task even for pros. But may be a new racket will bring Caro long-awaited Grand Slam title? We’ll see… A racket has an MSRP price of $129-$169, and you can demo it at TennisWarehouse or TennisExpress.

At the same time Novak Djokovic shifts to a new Head frame. Novak says that Head YouTek IG Speed fulfills his need for speed.

"Speed is part of my character and part of my tennis style on the court. I like moving very fast on the court and being aggressive and the racket helps me  with that a lot. I like the combination of control and speed. The racket has to be part of you so you have to be as one and work as one and this is the only way it’s going to work well".

We’ll see if a new stick will help Djokovic get better results on Australian Open. Meanwhile, if you want to try the “speedy” racket for yourself, demo it at TennisWarehouse or TennisExpress.
