US Open 2011 Tennis Fashion. Day 1: Petra Kvitova's Outfit

US Open has started, so we are trying to bring our day-to-day Slam Fashion reviews. First day is about Petra Kvitova. Unfortunately Petra lost in the first round to Alexandra Dulgheru just in two sets. However we liked her style from Nike, so she really deserves to be mentioned in our U.S. Open 2011 Tennis Fashion review. Red top contrasts great with all the blue U.S. Open backgrounds and courts.

Wimbledon Adidas Fashion Review. Women's Collection

We have already talked about Nike fashion at Wimbledon. Let's see what Adidas has to offer.

Adidas created three lines for this year Wimbledon. And all their clothing has also a version in color, so it will probably be used during U.S. Open as well.

Ana Ivanovic and Daniela Hantuchova presented us a dress from Adidas adiZero Feather line.
Adidas adiZero Feather dress is also available in pink and blue. We will probably see it at U.S. Open, but these colors are already on sale in major tennis stores.

Wimbledon 2011 Fashion. Day 3: Stanislas Wawrinka vs. Andy Roddick

Day 3. Stanislas Wawrinka vs. Andy Roddick

Roger Federer's friend and doubles partner Stanislas Wawrinka from Switzerland didn't make it to the third round of Wimbledon loosing to the Italian Simone Bolelli in straight sets. Though Stanislas didn't play well today, he looked amazing in this Lacoste outfit. Little blue accents on Lacoste Tipped Polo Shirt made it classy and much more interesting than all-white combination Andy Roddick went for.

Fashionable Federer

“It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.”  Roger Federer

Name:  Roger Federer
Birth Date:  August 8, 1981
Height:  6’ 1”
Weight:  177 lbs.
Current Residence:  Munchenstein, Switzerland

With a record of 16 Grand Slam singles titles under his belt, Roger Federer is undoubtedly one of the best tennis players of all time.  He has one older sibling (a sister, Diana) and married a member of the Swiss Women’s Tennis Team, Miroslava (Mirka) Vavrinec.  In July of 2009, they celebrated the birth of twin girls, Charline Riva and Myla Rose.  During his down time, Roger enjoys the beach and playing cards, ping pong and cricket.  A renaissance man, Roger speaks fluent English, German, French and little Swedish and Italian.

His first Grand Slam win in 2003 marked the development of Roger Federer - both in his game and in his sense of fashion.   He has evolved from a young tennis player void of any particular style into a man with very specific tastes.

Roger’s current on-court appearance blends comfort and class.  He enjoys bright colors in small doses, and his tailored garments perfectly fit his toned physique.  Light, breathable fabrics and tasteful accessories enhance the appearance of a cool, calm and collected tennis professional.

Federer has said that fashion helps him to understand who he is.  For instance, when he collected his sixth Wimbledon trophy beating Pete Sampras’ grand slam record, he wore the track jacket below boldly displaying the number 15, which was symbolic of the event.  Many thought this showed a certain level of arrogance, as Pete Sampras was in the audience at the time.

Off court, Roger Federer sports a clean, classic look featuring tailored jackets and preppy sweaters. He is frequently seen at fashion shows with his friend and Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour and reportedly asks her for fashion tips.

Wintour also provides Federer with on-court style tips, as when he displayed this “all white” pre-match outfit at Wimbledon in 2009, featuring full-length trousers and a mackintosh jacket embroidered with the familiar "RF" monogram.

Though during practice Roger looks like a "regular guy".

Sport This! Mikhail Youzhny's and Caroline Wozniacki's Fashion at Dubai

With the 2011 tennis season in full swing, we are on the hunt for the best examples of on-court fashion, but be warned…we are a little bit picky.  Tennis styles have to pass a myriad of tests in order to survive our shrewd selection process.

Number One:  The outfit needs to be comfortable - body temperature and the ability to move freely on court both affect performance, performance affects attitude, and attitude affects style!  This goes for accessories as well.  If you are distracted by headbands, hats, visors or wrist bands – by all means, don’t wear them.

Number Two:  We like color – but don’t go overboard.  A little color shows a player with personality – all whites, blacks and grays just don’t cut it…unless you’re Andre Agassi – he earned the right to occasionally go “all black.”

Number Three:  For the love of Johnny Mac, coordinate!  Pick a few colors and stick to them.  It’s great to have skills, but looking good while you’re beating up on your opponent is, well…gravy!

We love this look by Adidas that Mikhail Youzhny is “sporting” at the Dubai Open.  Featuring black, white and a hint of lime green, he looks cool, comfortable and stylish.  Way to go, Mikhail, you passed our tests with flying colors!

On the female side, we like this hassle-free Stella McCartney design for Caroline Wozniacki and Adidas.  This bright, tangerine shade is a good choice for fair-haired women, and the brightly-painted nails and shoe stripes add a nice touch!  Good job, Caroline!
