Top Five Best-Dressed Tennis Players: 2011 French Open

With the 2011 tennis season in full swing, we come to the most exciting clay-court professional tournament of the season, the French Open. When it comes to fashion at Roland Garros, many of the players are wearing styles similar to those they wore at the Australian Open (so we apologize for a bit of redundancy), but there are a few style surprises at the French Open this year. Check out our picks for the…

Top Five Best-Dressed Tennis Players: 2011 French Open

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France celebrates match point during the men's singles round one match between Jan Hajek of Czech Republic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France on day one of the French Open at Roland Garros on May 22, 2011 in Paris, France.

1st PRIZE.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga – Pop and Personality!
Jo-Willy’s color choice pops against the burnt-orange, Parisian clay! As always, he looks neat, clean and put together in this
Adidas adiAce Polo
, Adidas adiAce Bermuda Shorts and Adidas adiZero Ace Shoes…even a little preppy! We love his taste and his spunky, on-court personality! Way to go, Jo!

2nd Prize.
Ana Ivanovic – Sunny and Bright!
Our “sunshine girl,” Ana Invanovic, is delightful (as usual) in the same Adidas adiZero Dress she was on Australian Open, but this time in pink. The color choice could be better – it doesn’t necessarily stand out against the orange-red clay - but that’s okay. Ana’s put-together look and her bright, white smile more than make up for it. Want to look like Ana? Pair the dress with Adidas Barricade Adilibira Tennis Shoes and pink visor.

3rd Prize – Shahar Peer - Reebok Rocks!
Shahar Peer rocks the Reebok – cute, comfy and classic in this all-black outfit featuring Reebok Vibrance Statement tank and skirt! And her bubbly and feisty personality adds to her on-court style!
Rafael Nadal Rafael Nadal of Spain celebrates matchpoint during the men's singles round four match between Rafael Nadal of Spain and Ivan Lubicic of Croatia on day nine of the French Open at Roland Garros on May 30, 2011 in Paris, France.

4th Prize – Vamos, Rafa!
As always in the last few years, Rafael Nadal looks great! This beautiful shade of sky blue complements the burnt-orange clay, but Rafa’s style choices are getting predictable and just on the verge of… ho-hum. To check Rafa's look in more detail, read our article Rafael Nadal Roland Garros 2011 Look.
Roger Federer Roger Federer of Switzerland serves during the men's singles round four match between Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland and Roger Federer of Switzerland on day eight of the French Open at Roland Garros on May 29, 2011 in Paris, France.

5th Prize – The Fed – Cool and Classic!
Roger Federer is once again classic and perfectly preppy – but his choice of shirt color doesn’t play well off the orange-red clay, and an occasional smile wouldn’t hurt either. To check Roger's look in more detail, read our article Roger Federer Roland Garros 2011 Look.

I would agree with Goerges, but not Sharapova and Azarenka...
Sharapova's dress is okay by itself, but on Maria it doesn't look very nice due to her light complexion. And Victoria's... just not to my taste, we already criticized this style in Wear This, not That post from the 2011 Sony Ericsson Open in Miami :)

"The Nike Women's Flirty Set Point Dress, which Azarenka wore in Paris, is a perfect mix of style and comfort. The Dri-Fit dress features an asymmetrical neckline, faux layering detail at racer back and asymmetrical ruffles."
